Seok Joon “John” Byun

Professional Background
Mr. Byun is an experienced analyst involved in model programming and research. He works with Denali’s Research Team on the design and enhancement of quantitative-based models, and on research projects.
Mr. Byun has a Masters degree in Finance from Rady School of Management at the University of California, San Diego, where he was one of eight selected students from a pool of 300 in a class called “Portfolio Theory in Practice” taught by Harry Markowitz, a Nobel Prize winning economist who devised the modern portfolio theory.
While at UCSD he collaborated with State Street Global Advisors in finding co-movement with country indices FX and interest rates to apply trading strategies.
